Count Photography covered photography at ‘The New Horizon Ball’, an event presented by Shiva Foundation at the Hilton, London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5.
The aim of the ball was to raise awareness about sex trafficking, a significant issue that receives little publicity, especially in India.
The evening started with a classical Indian music performance by a group from Milapfest in the stunning reception area before guests were invited to the function room upstairs. Mr Rishi Sachdev, Managing Director of Shiva Hotels, gave the opening address followed by a wonderful music performance by Escalla while guests enjoyed a mix of Indian food.
Later on, guests participated in a unique ‘silent auction’ where they placed bids on auction items via iPads. There was a range of items, including signed items from famous sports and entertainment personalities.
Anita Rani from the BBC introduced Sunitha Krishnan, the main speaker of the evening, who gave a powerful talk on how she works with various organisations to tackle the issue of sex trafficking which is prominent in various parts of the world. Krishnan’s work is profiled on TED.
The event concluded with an energetic performance by the Jersey Boys.
A powerful evening, raising over £200,000 for the charities iPartner India & Hilton Foundation.
