Yesterday evening we covered photography at the UK Welcomes Modi, Welcome Partner Reception, which took place at the Indian Gymkhana Club in Osterley. Over 450 guests from various UK organisations came together under one roof.
The event started with guests arriving and signing in. Guests, who had made their way from various towns and cities from across the country, had an opportunity to network in the main building for an hour or so.
Following this, they made their way to the main marquee where tables were setup for this grand, evening reception. Everyone was warmly welcomed and a traditional of lighting of the lamp opened the event. A number of individuals from various organisations and a host of MP’s, including Keith Vaz, Stephen Pound and Virendra Sharma took to the stage, providing rallying support for the grand reception to welcome Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the UK this November. Wembley Stadium will provide the platform for Prime Minister Modi to address crowds of 60,000+ people on the 13th November and inspire a generation.
Mr Ranjan Mathai, Indian High Commissioner to the UK, spoke highly of the visit and encouraged each and every individual to take an active role in building links within the UK and help to strengthen ties between the UK and India.
