Labour Party Diwali celebrations – London 2014

October 24, 2014 | By |

It was great to attend and cover photography at the Labour Party Diwali 2014 function. It was held at the Conrad London St. James in London earlier this week. Over 300 guests filled the reception room to celebrate the Hindu festival of Diwali with a number of past, present and future Labour politicians. These included, Chuka Umunna, Sadiq Khan, Barry Gardiner and Seema Malhotra to name a few.

Guests enjoyed canapes and drinks and had an opportunity to network and listen to some classical music from a live group.

Ed Miliband, Leader of the Labour Party and Leader of the Opposition attended took part in the celebrations and joined children from the Avanti School to light the lamps to open proceedings. He then gave a speech highlighting his joy in celebrating this vibrant festival with such a huge number of Indian diaspora on the evening.

The event was managed by India Inc. and many other companies contributed to make the event a success.

Moving out of poverty in India: A discussion – Magic Bus

June 28, 2014 | By |

It was great to attend and photograph a discussion hosted by Magic Bus UK which focussed around poverty in India. It took place at the Nomura offices in Moorgate.

The panel discussion had a number of experts across various sectors. It was moderated by Channel 4 news presenter Krishnan Guru-Murthy with panel members including Nandini Gooptu, Head of International Development at Oxford University, Manoj Ladwa, Founder of India Inc., Maya Prabhu, Managing Director at Coutts Institute, Asif Rangoonwala, Chairman of the Rangoonwala Foundation, and Sonya Timms, Director of Magic Bus UK.

The newly elected government in India, provides a new opportunity for discussion on how organisations such as Magic Bus can continue to enhance their work going forward and helping to improve the lives of others.

From the discussion, it was clear that the new government are looking to improve the lives of those in need, but with any kind of change, it will take time.

We look forward to hearing and learning more on the work of Magic Bus.

A New Dawn for India: What does it mean for UK-India business? India Inc.

June 22, 2014 | By |

On 11th June, Count attended the ‘A New Dawn for India: What does it mean for UK-India business? An event organised by India Inc.

With India’s new government now in place, it was an opportunity to talk business and establish how both India and the UK can work together more to increase talent, tourism, trade & technology. It will take time, but Richard Gubbins partner and head of India Business Group at the international law firm Ashurst said, “patience, perseverance and persistence” will be required to strengthen the bond and see the change.

We look forward to working with India Inc. to provide seminar photography in the future. It was a pleasure to work alongside the team at Promotional Business Videos, who captured video footage and interviews from the event.
